Divine Providence

Scripture Reading: Exodus 1: 18-22

Key Verse: But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread ...(Exodus 1:12)

Meditation:  When our circumstances suddenly worsen (or dramatically change), we wonder "why is this happening to me and why now?" When the new Egyptian king unleashed his repressive measures, the Hebrews were asking those same questions. They were the "chosen people" and the prospects of being obliterated as a distinct people in one generation threaten them. What if all male children were killed at birth? How would this impact God's Messianic promises?

Even when God appears to be silent, He is always at work. We can rely on God's being active when His people are suffering. Even though we do not describe His hand in history today, yet He is actively at work. The scriptures affirm God is the Alpha who brought the whole order of creation into existence and the Omega, the one who'll bring its glorious consummation. God's sovereign propose works in as invisible, but unbreakable line from the beginning to the end. While evil kings and satanic power may try to break that line of God's propose, they will all fail as demonstrated in this chapter.

*The king of Egypt's plan to limit the growth of the Hebrews failed. His attempt to use the Hebrew midwives to kill all the male children also failed. Then his thrid attempt to enlist the nation also failed. for even the ind's daught opposed her father's palnn and activly became a vital link in proeplating th nest learder of Isreal.

Thought for the day:** The sovereign God continues to be at work in the midst of our trial, and He will also consummate our future victory.

My uncle has used the term "Hebrews" for the nation of Israel. I will be using the term Hebrew for the language and Israelis for the whole family that has descended from Jacob.

*Again, the Pharaoh that we will meet  80years later  when Moses is ready to lead the nation "home" is not the same man that has tried here in Exodus 1 to kill the baby boys of Israel.

**This is the case. Satan is continues to play catch up with God. Even in our lives today. God has already made the plans for us before we were born, Satan is only trying to interfere and prevent us from entering into the rest, peace that comes from doing the will of God.
