Scripture Reading: Exodus 4: 1-7
Key Verse: " what is that in you hand?" (Exodus: 4:2)*
1) Ask for a sign of confirmation only if you are willing to obey. Signs are not for information, but for obedience.
2) Let God choose the sign of his infinite wisdom and creativity.
3) Be alert and flexible for God's answer, as it may not be what you expect.
4) Do not insist on your timetable or give God a deadline. If people are involved, give God time to get them in line with his purpose for you.
5) Do not force the answer. If it does not come, look for another opening that God may be trying to get you to notice.
6) Do not insist on more guidance that you need for the first step. Divine guidance is like car lights at night. They do not show us what is around the curve until we actually get there.7) Ask God for a promise to reinforce the concern you feel. Emotions may change, but God's word is sure.
Thought for the Day: Most of God's promises have a future reference rather than an immediate one. They require long-term commitment.
*I love this verse. What is in your hand? What has already been given to you? How can you use that tool, talent, skill, circumstances? If you are seeking a sign- first look at where you are now. God will equip you and not leave you alone or inadequate for the task he has made you for. The Creator has made you and placed you for a job only you can do.
