The God who Calls (4)

Scripture Reading: Exodus 3:4-6

Key Verse: ...And God called to him from within the bush ( Exodus 3:4)

Meditation:God as the Lord of Glory will condescend to use attention- getting devices to draw us to Him.  For Moses to see a scrubby desert tree ablaze but not consumed certainly was a striking  phenomenon. The tree seemed to be actually reflection God's awesome Shekinah glory as God's actual presences. much like the pillar of fire that would later guide the people to the Promised Land.

God's approach to us may not be as dramatic of sensational, yet we can be certain that God is still trying to get our attention. We can identify special times and places when God unmistakeably spoke to us. Sometimes He effects a multiplication of similar circumstances that point us to Him  or to His answer to our prayers.

At another time God will direct another Christian  to say something directional for us. The spiritual gift of discernment on the part of another can facilitate the decision we may be considering.

Again, in the tragic happenings of our lives, God can redeem the incident to bring us a great understanding of His Grace and power. As we wipe away the tears from our eyes we can see God's face, and learn of His future purpose for us.

Thought for the Day: I will discipline myself to stop and observe the burning bushes God has providentially placed in my busy paths of duty.
